Our Story
The inspiring journey from a COVID-19 inspired idea to transforming rural communities

Founded by Nandi & Nolwazi Ngubane
Sisters with a Vision
"The concept was developed in 2020, provoked by the frustration of COVID-19 virus resulting in the closing of most gyms."
The Beginning
A young South African business student studying at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus and fitness enthusiast, Nandi Ngubane, thought of a way of solving this problem with her sister Nolwazi Ngubane, whom she would often work out with online while she completed her Degree in Industrial Psychology at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa.
They developed the concept of a Nomadic Gym - a gym that goes with you, offering value for price.
The Spark
COVID-19 gym closures inspired innovation
International Start
Cyprus bootcamps bridging cultures
Cyprus Beginnings
Nandi ran with it and started off by running a small fitness boot camp for university students in Cyprus in open fields. She provided her members with skipping ropes, resistance bands and yoga mats, training international students from across the world and bridging the gap of cultural differences through fitness.
Returning Home
Returning to South Africa upon completion of her degree in 2022, she joined forces with her sister and pivoted into making gym and fitness accessible within rural areas, seeking to uplift communities.
Upon the realization that not all working middle class can afford a monthly gym fee, or always have access to a gym, our portable gym product line was developed, with fitness in a box, and our fitness hub website.
